BBChain avoided pitfalls and issues during the cloud environment migration

“Every time we take on a Blockchain project, we face a significant challenge with infrastructure and technology, and this challenge involves cost, time, and money, which hinders our clients' go-to-market,” says André Carneiro, Operations Director and Head of Product at BBChain.

For this reason, the company created a product to accelerate delivery for clients, and the cloud where the platform was hosted was no longer the best option for the demand. “At this moment, we sought a partner who could provide us with a more holistic view. We approached Microsoft for its characteristics, everything we already knew, its range of products, and its vision to assist us throughout the journey, from solution design to delivery and architectural review to make it scalable. We met the partner Teltec, who helped us implement the migration and seize the opportunity to have the product in the Microsoft marketplace,” André points out.

When this opportunity reached Teltec with the support of Microsoft, we realized it was much more than a migration project; it was a challenge to rewrite architectures to ensure the client had a more robust environment with better structure and did not carry over the problems encountered in the previous cloud.

More than that, the challenge was to create a new structure that met this product based on recommendations and best practices while also being adaptable to the unique peculiarities of this business.

To achieve this, there were two significant phases: the first involved redesigning the architecture, rethinking strategies, and establishing foundations for this project with frameworks, databases, networks, Kubernetes, load balancing, DevOps, virtual networks, among others.

For the next phase, several actions are planned, utilizing various Microsoft functionalities, such as:

More than just implementing tools and moving data between clouds, Teltec's main concern was to maintain security, create new strategies, and eliminate potential errors so that performance going forward would not be compromised.

“We are still in migration because we changed the initial design, and Microsoft and Teltec made a difference in rethinking our structure. If we had only migrated in the same way from GCP to another cloud, we would still face scalability issues. The migration process is not just about copying information from one place to another. If we only migrate an architecture that already has problems, it will just change location. Therefore, the support and structure from Teltec and Microsoft to rethink the architecture was crucial and has made a significant difference in changing our path and leaving the problems behind,” emphasizes André.
