SEBRAE-SC migrates IT environment to the cloud with Teltec Data

Migration to Microsoft Azure brought numerous benefits to the organization, including cost-effectiveness!

Teltec Data was the organization chosen by SEBRAE-SC to carry out the entire migration of its portal's cloud environment to the Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS). For this, it was up to Teltec to understand the entire set of microservices that the client had hosted with third parties, using another solution, to define and execute the procedure within the stipulated timeframe.

“Since the institution's technological environment was already based on Microsoft, an analysis was conducted to evaluate the advantages of migration, not only due to the services offered by the manufacturer but also aimed at cost reduction. Teltec then presented us with a comparison between both, and we opted to make the transition,” explained Leandro Henrique Borba, Infrastructure and Network Security Manager at SEBRAE-SC.

Teltec - in its units Teltec Solutions and Teltec Data - and SEBRAE-SC have maintained a long-standing partnership since 2012, with the implementation of services in the areas of infrastructure, telephony, and cybersecurity. Starting in 2018, when Teltec presented the Microsoft licensing line, it won several more bidding processes with productivity and collaboration solutions.

The first experience with cloud services with Teltec occurred in 2013. At that time, SEBRAE-SC was an AWS client through another supplier, and through a bidding process, it began to be served by Teltec.

“A few years later, together with Teltec, we identified the advantages of migrating our AWS cloud environment to one that had more cost-benefit regarding the licensing itself, since SEBRAE's technological park was already working with Microsoft. Teltec provided us with a cost comparison and showed the advantages of migrating the solutions, not only due to the services offered but also for the cost-benefit,” explains Leandro.

The specialist reports that the migration of SEBRAE-SC's services and solutions portal needed to be done in a short period, considering the complexity of the operation.

“The old contract was about to expire, and we needed to have everything ready so that the portal would not stop functioning. Our biggest challenge was the timeframe. In many partnerships, this type of migration can take up to 6 months, which is a normal time. With Teltec, we completed it in two months, and it was not just that; more than migrating, the work continues with suggestions, improvements, and visibility for our technical team.”

With the migration of the portal to Microsoft Azure, SEBRAE-SC is experiencing numerous benefits with a modernized interface, optimized data security for applications, cost reduction in infrastructure and IT operations, elasticity and scalability to support changes in workload, high availability of the involved resources, provision of solid and secure bases for digital transformation, cost forecasting and management, and much more.

“The use of microservices (AKS) was necessary, is incorporated into the organization, and is essential for our goal of providing technology for digital transformation. Although we still have a legacy regarding old bases, we have been trying for at least two years to ensure that each new application enters a modernized technology environment and already meets development standards. With this new project and Teltec, we managed to maintain a sustainable development pipeline for the business,” emphasizes Borba.

In addition to meeting the set deadline, Borba highlights the quality of service provided to the team.

“Sometimes, you hire a partner that provides a service, and when you need assistance, they assign a less experienced attendant to solve your problem. At Teltec, a direct communication channel was created with them, where the teams communicated with great dynamism. Our doubts were instantly resolved by specialists in the subject. Despite the contractual relationship, Teltec has always closely accompanied us and proved to be a great partner, not only in easy moments but also in challenges,” he emphasized.
